You're Beautiful

Yes! It's another K-drama! It's only my second one but I'm starting to really look forward to them!
You're Beautiful is a drama about cross-dressing and stardom. Go Mi Nyeo is a sister-in-training and is soon travelling to Rome to complete her training. However, on her while performing tasks for her Superior Mother a strange black van starts following her. As it turns out her twin, Go Mi Nam, as been offered a once in a life time job oppurtunity: to work as a singer for much-loved boy band A.N.JELL. Unfortunately Go Mi Nam had an incident with some cosmetic surgery and can't make it to sign the contract. So Go Min Nam's Manager, Ma, persuades his sister to sign it. But what Go Mi Nyeo doesn't realise is that once she's signed that contract she is part of the band, that means living in the dorm and following the schedules like all the other members.

I must admit, it's amazing!! All those misunderstandings caused from the lies. It just gets more and more twisted! Keeping a secret as big as one's gender causes all sorts of problems! Although I wish the plot would be more about this as it is now going down the unfortunate route of cheesy unnecessary love triangles! The really annoying kind that I still love! Yes, I mean the kind were they never realise their in love and are ridiculously ignorant of each other. Go Mi Nam's best quote is probably "Why is my heart beating so loudly? Is it because we walked so much?". If they kept with the dramatic trying to keep her secret and trying to get along with rest of the band then it would be less cheesy. But what's a K-drama with out a dramatic love triangle?
I do like all the colour in this! A.N.JELL are all so different it makes it interesting to see how each of them react. I think Jeremy is the most interesting! He is A.N.JELL's youngest member and drummer. He is also the only member who know's absolutely nothing about Go Mi Nam. This means that he has to come to his own conclusions about what's happening, and they are so funny! He's also the comedian of the group and is the one who makes every one laugh! But he doesn't know what to do when people are sad. The other members are Kang Shin Woo and Hwang Tae Kyung, polar opposites of each other. Hwang Tae Kyung is the leader of A.N.JELL and mainly the singer. He is extremely cold and never shows his real emotions. Meanwhile, Kang Shin Woo is extremely kind and acts like a guardian angle, he's the only one who accepted Go Mi Nam at first. He plays guitar and raps.
The acting is all fairly mediocre. I think think maybe, the plot calls for acting which isn't particularly amazing. Like Park Shin Hye, who plays Go Mi Nam. She mostly looks like a fumbling idiot, but that's what Go Mi Nam is like! And Jeremy has an amazing variety of facial expression, I didn't know Lee Hong Ki was such a great actor, I only new him from his band FT:Island. Although the most spectacular acting came from Jang Geun Suk, who plays the moody Hwang Tae Kyung. Throughout so many of the episode he was just pulling the same face, talking in the same tone, always the same, nothing surprising. But about halfway through the series you see another side of him, a happy Hwang Tae Kyung! Not only does it look very natural, it's also very cute!
I will definitely watch the rest of this series. I just hope they'll be more comedy in it! After all, they have a cross-dressing band chic living in a dorm of males! There could be so many awkward moments if they wanted! But, I'm a romance junky so I'm not really complaining!! It's a good drama! It just needs some more umph! Something to make it more interesting! So, I'll have to watch the rest of it and see what it has in store!
