Kujibiki Unbalance (TV series)

Chihiro Enomoto and his childhood friend Tokino Akiyama are starting at their new school. In the prestigious Rikkyouin High School everything is decided by lottery, so the pair start the year by becoming President and Vice-President. With this role comes great expectations since a school as renowned as Rikkyouin expect grand achievments from every council member, oh and if they can't meet up to standards the whole Council get expelled. That includes President, Vice-President, secretary (Renko Kamishakuji) and treasurer (Koyuki Asagiri). These four, (with the help of Kaoruko Yamada) have to complete all their missions to gain approval from the current Council. Obviously, these tasks are not for an normal council and thus are  completed in most abnormal ways. Mostly Kamishakuli's curious inventions using Yamada's head as the control box. Which I think will remain funny thought out the episodes! Also, there is a mysterious relationship between Chihiro and the present President (Ritsuko): are they childhood friends or is there more to it? I still need to find out. But they don't put enough focus onto it to make it interesting. Really, I can't see the plot progressing past the council comically completing missions. But we'll see!

However, this anime doesn't use the lottery as an object of luck but they view it as their DESTINY!! As such, all council members end up a bit special. Tokino who has good luck. I don't mean she finds change on the floor kind of lucky, I mean winning first prize in tombola kind of lucky! Combined with her always accurate fortune teller on her phone she can practically tell the future!! Kamishakuji is a bit of a prodigy, and can create machines for any situation with her assistant Yamada and the machines are really powerful too! Koyuki seems like just a shy elementary student at first. But we later find that she has supernatural powers enough to take down a UFO. Didn't see that one coming. Finally, Chihiro who has the power of.... the power of misfortune? OK, I'm not sure why he's there really, he doesn't much help! I Think Ritsuko tampered with the lottery so that they could meet up again! He's a bit boring nice character I guess.. Tokino is the best though! So carefree and happy, she forces her friendship upon people immediately so they can't escape her bubble of happiness! But she shows her sensitive side later on and so we know that she just wants every one to be happy!
I'm not a fan of the art. It's animated fine, but hair falls and waves a bit awkwardly. Maybe the characters use a lot of hairspray, but I think the animators were just a bit lazy there! The flash back scenes are totally adorable though, with they're chubby kiddy bodies and  they're powerfully emotional faces: so sweet! When they get older though, less cute! The angular faces and long foreheads just don't do it for me!
It's a short anime of 12 episodes and although I am finding it quite entertaining the way it is, I really can't imagine the plot going anywhere. Just a building of friendships and maybe some more 'serious' tasks. Nonetheless I shall watch it all and see because there is a lot this anime could give!
